A Bit About Me
Hi there! 👋 Joy to me is helping connect others to a work-life that makes them most curious, motivated and fulfilled. I've had my fair share of pivots in the process of finding the same for myself. Before starting my own business, I spent a decade working for large advertising agencies, learning & development start-ups and creative freelance collectives. The teams that I led launched scrappy digital campaigns as much as big Super Bowl spots for brands like FritoLay, Hilton, Victoria's Secret and State Farm (hey, Jake!) In the process, my career completely burnt out.
It was thanks to investing in my own coach that I learned how to pause, pivot and connect the dots between all my wins, losses & learnings. I became a learning & development facilitator - first with the workforce development firm hired by major orgs and, now, independently. Today, my path to a creative, grounded and decidedly more aligned work-life informs how I help others navigate their own. Let's get started.
Career Experience
10 YEARS in ADVERTISING
THE PANDEMIC PIVOT
WHERE IT LED ME TODAY
Kickstarted my career at TMA, a large creative agency owned by the publicly traded advertising giant, Omnicom. Started in digital marketing. Made big client wins and best friends. Ended a brand strategy director & new business manager with a case of burnout.
Moved from Dallas to Chicago in a classic global shutdown meets personal uprooting. Quit my job. Fell in love! Met my career coach. Rested, wrestled, reinvented. Pivoted from biz development to people development as a LifeLabs Learning leadership trainer.
Joined the mass layoff trend in Nov. 2022. Launched my business the next month. Now work at an intersection of 1:1 coaching, team workshop development and freelance brand strategy. Collaborate with career pivoters, creative collectives and workforce disruptors. Spring Street was born after coaching clients, colleagues and friends, and realizing my practice could be useful to many more.
